10 Celebs Who Are Neighbors in Real Life

Celebrities are often considered undesirable neighbors. They can sometimes act spoiled, and they tend to have paparazzi hanging around. What happens when 2 celebrities live next to each another, though? As with everyone else, they sometimes get along and have problems at other times. Here is a list of the past and current celebrity neighbors to check out.

1. Matthew Perry and Lindsay Lohan

Matthew Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Tobey Maguire all live around the Sunset Strip area in Los Angeles. When Lindsay Lohan needed a new home in 2005, she chose Matthew Perry’s condo complex. She bought the three-bedroom home for nearly $2 million.

2. Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow

While Gwyneth Paltrow spends most of her time in England, she had a home in New York, too. Her apartment in Manhattan’s Tribeca area was in the same building as Meryl Streep’s. While they got along, they had a problem when it came time to sell.

They both wanted to sell at the exact same time. When you have two apartments in a building on sale at the same time, it is often not a good thing – buyers can play one seller off against the other. Luckily, they worked the problem out.

3. Miley Cyrus and Steve Carrell

While most men would be elated to have Miley Cyrus as a neighbor, Steve Carrell is not one of them. According to Miley, the comedian, whose role as Evan in the Jim Carrey hit Bruce Almighty made him famous, thinks she is an airhead and does not like having her around. He considers her a dangerous driver too.

4. Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande

Going by Ariana’s experience, Miley is nothing if not neighborly. Miley has actually written a sentimental song about her neighbors. When Arianna moved into her neighborhood, Miley was the first to reach out to her with an invitation to hang out.

5. Oprah Winfrey and Drew Barrymore

Oprah has had a vast estate in Santa Barbara’s Montecito neighborhood for years. Comedians Steve Martin and John Cleese (of Fawlty Towers and A Fish Called Wanda) happen to live in the neighborhood, too. In 2011, Drew Barrymore decided to join the party, dropping $7 million on a 72-year-old Mediterranean-style estate. She did not stay there long, though. She sold it in 2013 at a slight loss.

The actor and the football player are friends – they are often photographed having a guys’ night out. In 2007, the Beckhams decided to buy a luxury Spanish villa in Beverly Hills that was just minutes from Tom Cruise’s pad. When they closed on the home, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes threw them a huge welcome party.

7. Katie Holmes and Nick Jonas

While Katie Holmes may have welcomed the Beckhams to Beverly Hills, she did not stick around for long. After she parted ways with Tom, she moved across the country to New York. The home she’s chosen in Manhattan’s Chelsea district is right next to the home of the Disney star Nick Jonas.

8. Justin Bieber and Kourtney Kardashian

Justin Bieber is often in the news for how much his neighbors hate him. In his Calabasas gated community The Oaks, for instance, Justin is often flagged for speeding. The Oaks does not have regular neighbors, either – it is home to the Jackson family and Travis Barker, among others.

At one point, Kim Kardashian’s sister Kourtney bought a home in the community. Justin Bieber reportedly didn’t like it at all. He right away sold his home to Chloe Kardashian, another Kardashian sister, and left.

9. Calvin Klein and Sean Combs

Sean Combs (Puff Daddy during his rapper days) is worth $700 million. Calvin Klein has $700 million, too. When you have this much money, the address you choose is 55, Central Park West, Manhattan. Since Sean Combs has his own clothing line, the choice of address might indicate a collaboration later.

10. Hugh Hefner, Portia deRossi and Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia deRossi may not have kids. If they decide on starting a family, though, living right next to the Playboy Mansion could not be the best thing for a child. That’s exactly where they live, though.
