Many celebrities have an excellent sense of style on and off the red carpet. But then there’s the other end of the spectrum: celebrities who hire clueless stylists and look frightful at award shows and even worse in street wear. The pervasive existence of these poorly dressed stars just goes to show that having the financial means and access to the best designers are useless when it comes to having personal style. Here’s a list of the worst dressed celebrities of all time.
1. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is young, sexy, and fun. She’s a musician and needs to change her style to mirror her music. However, her outfits are just as questionable as her twerking and weird facial expressions. The nude bikini and shorts, bunny jumpsuit, foam finger and cropped spandex tops all confirm that Cyrus needs a stylist and a reality check. She’s had a few hits, such as her edgy haircut and the glamorous green Marc Jacobs gown, but her excessive, poor choices put her on this worst dressed list.
2. Madonna
Fashion magazines hailed Madonna for her iconic looks over the years. However, the Truth or Dare singer’s sense of fashion took a turn for the worse in recent years. Who can forget her grass green Louis Vuitton dress or the fishnets and suspenders she wore to the Billboard Music Awards? Maybe it’s time for the singer to start dressing her age.
3. Mark Zuckerberg
For all his billions, Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t seem to care when he steps out in an old t-shirt, hoodie and Adidas sandals. Surely Facebook’s founder could do better? Maybe he should shell out a few to hire a stylist and revamp his wardrobe. Or maybe we should follow his example and stop caring about the style at all?
4. Brad Pitt
Living with Angelina Jolie has not done much for Brad Pitt’s style. Women swoon at his blond good looks and melt at his charming smile. But with a face covered with wild hair, you can’t help but notice his unkempt style. Brad cleans up well for the red carpet, but without a stylist, his personal style leaves a lot to be desired.
5. Britney Spears
Britney Spears’ fashion crimes on and off the red carpet are well documented. Uggs and Daisy Dukes in the height of summer, a horrid cowgirl denim dress on the red carpet, and the red velvet boots with purple tights are just a few of Spears’ over-the-top fashion choices. While most of us are her fans, sometimes we can’t understand and accept her style.

6. Russell Brand
Russell Brand is as eccentric as they come. But he doesn’t seem to understand that leggings are not made for men. Jeggings, pleather leggings, black ones, short ones, bright ones and light ones, he’s worn them all. What’s worse than his skintight leggings? His V-neck, chest-revealing blouses. We understand, everyone has their own personal style, but it’s crucial to improve it year by year.
7. Ke$ha
It seems Ke$ha aims for the worst dressed list every time she shows up at awards show. Wacky behavior aside, the singer needs to get her style together. A bra, headdress and earrings, all made from strangers’ teeth, are no sane person’s idea of fashionable.
8. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s weird performances and outlandish outfits are perhaps more familiar than her music. It’s easy to understand her taste for weird outfits on the stage and red carpet, but the Mama Monster’s shocking style spills into her street wear. The bizarre costumes are just terrible on so many levels.
9. Nicki Minaj
Lately, Nicki Minaj seems to favor a much softer look. But who can forget her gravity-defying wigs and outrageous costumes? From carrot tops to pink and rainbow colored wigs with matching outfits, Nicki Minaj will always be remembered for her bizarre fashion.
10. Elton John
Here’s a case of saving the worst for last. Elton John is getting on in years, but that doesn’t seem to have tamed his wacky sense of style. Fans will always remember the Honky Cat costume, flamboyant feathers, sequins, chest-revealing outfits and studded tights. His outfits are dramatic on and off the stage. Some things will just never change.

Surely, all of these celebrities have their best looks and they often dress to impress, but their street styles are terrible most of the times. I love them all – Britney and Madonna are my favorite singers since childhood, Miley Cyrus has fantastic music skills and Lady Gaga’s songs are on my playlist – but when it comes to street styles, there are more fashionable stars.
