Gossip magazines and websites tend to devote lots of space to dirt about celebrity romances. They don’t say nearly as much about friendships. Many celebrities, though, have deep, meaningful, lifelong friendships. These relationships show a beautiful side to these famous people that doesn’t get as much attention as it should.
1. Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson
Who said there’s no friendship between a man and a woman? It’s absolutely possible. After British actor Robert Pattinson broke up with actress Kristen Stewart, it was singer Katy Perry who offered him a shoulder to cry on. Ever since then, the two have been inseparable.
2. Robert Pattinson and Tom Sturridge
Robert Pattinson has another best bud, Tom Sturridge, whom he went to school with, in England. Luckily for them, they both relocated to the US together for their careers. In Hollywood, they hang out with the city’s large group of British actors. It’s so awesome when the school friends remain best friends in adult life too.
3. Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams
Actresses Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams met on the set of Dawson’s Creek, the hit 90s TV show that they both starred in. After Busy broke up with her boyfriend Jason Segel, she even played matchmaker, setting Michelle up with him. Hopefully, they’ll stay best friends forever.
4. Miley Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne
As daughters of world-famous musicians, both Miley Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne have a lot in common. Acting on the sets of So Undercover, their straight-to-DVD film, they struck up a great friendship. They are often seen together, having fun.
5. Usher and Justin Bieber
Growing up, Justin saw Usher as a role model. As Justin Bieber became a star in his own right and looked for a record label, Usher signed him on. He even became Justin’s mentor. They often perform together now, as they did at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

6. Kim Kardashian and La La Vasquez
Kim Kardashian and La La Vasquez have been friends for years. Whether they have some misunderstandings or not, their friendship only seems to get stronger. They spend lots of time together, going to sports events, red carpet events and fashion shows.
7. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
For years, the two comediennes shared a stage on Saturday Night Live. Unlike some celebrities who don’t get along when working together, though, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have actually had a close friendship since the 90s, when they studied improvisation together at Second City in Chicago.
8. George Clooney and Brad Pitt
George Clooney and Brad Pitt have been best buddies for years. Like many other celebrity friendships, their relationship started on the set of a movie: Ocean’s 11. They don’t tend to spend a lot of time together, though. Some years, they don’t even see each other. But it’s a strong friendship, nonetheless.
9. Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyoncé Knowles
Gwyneth and Beyoncé are best friends. Their husbands, musicians Chris Martin and Jay-Z, are friends too. Celebrity photographers love to catch both couples going out together. In an interview in Harper’s Bazaar UK, Beyoncé once said that she looked up to Gwyneth and hoped to be like her one day. In return, Gwyneth said that she believed that there was no one more artistically gifted on the planet than Beyoncé.
10. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly
Funnyman Will Ferrell is not gay. Neither is John C. Reilly. Yet, they have often been photographed together in public, in astonishing public displays of affection. At a Lakers game in 2011, for example, photographers found them kissing each other on the mouth. But it doesn’t mean they are lovers. They are just friends.
